Season 8 Registration & Rewards Policy
Projected $2,000 Seasonal Rewards
Preliminary estimate. Final seasonal rewards will be announced after registration closes and may increase or decrease based on participation, sponsorships, available league funding, and operating requirements. The projection is not guaranteed, promised, fixed, funded, committed, or participant-owned.
Approved registrations and tier format
An approved registration is a completed paid registration or authorized complimentary entry that satisfies eligibility review. Paid registrations and complimentary entries are tracked separately.
- At least 240 approved registrations: Pro, Semi-Pro, Academy, and Development.
- At least 180 but fewer than 240: Pro, Semi-Pro, and Academy.
- Fewer than 180: registration remains open until at least 180 approved registrations are reached.
Final tier allocation
Percentages apply to the final announced allocation, not the earlier projection. Amounts are rounded to whole dollars and any final rounding remainder is assigned to Pro. Only the championship team in each tier receives that tier monetary allocation. There are no runner-up monetary payments.
- Four tiers: Pro 65%, Semi-Pro 20%, Academy 10%, Development 5%.
- At a final $2,000: Pro $1,300, Semi-Pro $400, Academy $200, Development $100.
- Three tiers: Pro 65%, Semi-Pro 20%, Academy 15%.
- At a final $2,000: Pro $1,300, Semi-Pro $400, Academy $300.
Eligible recipients and GM proposal
Only eligible participants on the championship team’s final postseason roster when the championship becomes final may receive payment. Traded, released, removed, or otherwise absent players are not eligible. The championship GM must submit a proposed distribution totaling exactly the tier allocation within seven calendar days. League Administration approval is required.
The GM may consider official matches and games played, postseason participation, availability, reliability, performance, contribution to wins, leadership, team support, substitute or emergency contributions, and documented discipline or eligibility issues. League Administration may require changes to a plainly unreasonable, retaliatory, discriminatory, participation-inconsistent, or self-preferential proposal.
Every eligible final-postseason-roster participant who appeared in at least one official match should receive a nonzero share unless disqualified. A GM may receive a share only as an eligible roster participant. No individual may receive more than 35% without a written exceptional-competitive-contribution finding approved by League Administration.
Development champion benefit
In a four-tier season, the Development champion receives its published monetary allocation and five complimentary player registrations for the next MRL season in which the championship organization participates. The GM chooses the players subject to MRL approval. The entries are organization-limited, have no cash value, are nonrefundable, are not transferable or redeemable, do not guarantee approval, playing time, or rewards, remain subject to normal requirements, and expire after two MRL seasons if unused.
Verification and secure documents
Potential recipients have 14 calendar days after written notice to complete verification. One extension of up to seven calendar days may be approved for good cause when requested before the original deadline. MRL must send one final written reminder before declaring forfeiture.
MRL may require identity, address, age, PayPal, tax, certification, and account-control information. Do not send Social Security numbers, government identification, or tax forms through public Discord channels or ordinary insecure forms. MRL will provide secure submission instructions when these materials are required.
PayPal timing
Approved monetary rewards will be processed through PayPal within 30 calendar days after the championship is final, the appeal period expires or is resolved, League Administration approves the GM distribution, and the recipient completes required verification. Recipients must provide accurate information and an account able to receive payment. MRL is not responsible for recipient-information errors, recipient account restrictions, PayPal review, or circumstances outside MRL’s reasonable control. MRL never requires an advance fee.
Forfeiture and reallocation
Participant-specific payment may be forfeited only for a published reason such as verification failure, fraud, cheating, account sharing, identity mismatch, disqualification, unresolved payment reversal, false registration information, or another express eligibility violation. The GM must propose a revised distribution among remaining eligible members of the same championship team. Nothing transfers to a runner-up. If no eligible teammate remains, the amount carries into a future MRL reward or promotional allocation rather than silently becoming ordinary retained revenue.
Taxes
Monetary rewards may constitute taxable income. Recipients are responsible for applicable taxes. MRL may require Form W-9 or other tax information, report payments when required, and apply backup withholding when legally required. MRL does not provide individual tax advice.
